S2E8: Two-Part Holiday Special Featuring Jonathan Johnson

‘Tis the season for giving and on the latest episode of PSG Talking, we’re delivering a packed show featuring Jonathan Johnson, who covers Paris Saint-Germain and Ligue 1 for ESPN FC and beIN Sports USA.

On the first half of the podcast, host Guillaume is joined by Louis to discuss a number of matches dating back to the November 26 clash against AS Monaco. During that span, PSG went on a rare losing streak but also managed to string together a few impressive wins. As Louis argues, the stretch was the perfect capsulation of what PSG have become. When PSG create high-quality scoring chances, like against Lille OSC or RC Strasbourg Alsace, they can look like the best team in Europe. However, when they settle for shots outside of the box and defend like a bunch of under-12s, well, the result isn’t pretty. Can Unai Emery find the secret ingredient to get PSG to play more consistent before it’s too late?

The second half of this episode (37:45) is all about the Real Madrid draw in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 and there’s no one better to talk about that with than our favorite journalist, Jonathan Johnson.

What reasons do PSG supporters have to be positive about this matchup against the Spanish giants? What are the implications if PSG does not advance to the quarter-finals? What changes will be made in the offseason? Is the club in a lose-lose situation? Many questions about this massive tie swirl around the Parc des Princes and Jonathan makes sense of it all.
