S2E6: Roller Coaster Results, Departing Players and Listener Questions

The PSG Talking crew is back with a new episode to get you through the last few days of the international break. What can we say, coordinating a podcast across five time zones and three continents isn’t as easy as it sounds…

Host Guillaume (@ofthedoor1) welcomes Matt (@PSGTourist) and Cosé (@CoseEspinosa) for a sublime episode covering four Ligue 1 matches, two UEFA Champions League games and hope to explain why Paris Saint-Germain can look like complete garbage against mid-tier French sides and then turn around and perform exceptionally well against European competition.

When PSG have been at their best recently most of the credit can be given to the midfield where Adrien Rabiot and Marco Verratti have paired exceptionally well. The one wild card is Julian Draxler. Should Unai Emery start the German on the left side of the midfield in the Champions League or should Thiago Motta start for stability? The answer could determine how successful the club is this year in the competition.

Then, with the January transfer window looming and Financial Fair Play restrictions tightening, there is a real possibility a few big-name players could be departing, including Javier Pastore (cue sad music). Also, why isn’t Christopher Nkunku playing? Seriously?

Finally, we answer listener questions and Guillaume might be starting to change his mind about PSG needing to sign a #6. Maybe.

As always, the best way to contact us is via Twitter at @PSGTalk, and be sure to subscribe and rate the podcast on iTunesGoogle Play, and Stitcher. Thanks for listening!
