  1. Gentlemen thanks for the podcast, however I must harp on a couple of things. First off, when discussing the Bastia match, you must give credit to the Corsican club. Sure, playing away at Corsica isn’t a thrill. The atmosphere was one of impending doom, the pitch was deplorable and the fans were worse, but they saw what happened to Lyon in the TDC and adjusted brilliantly from a tactical standpoint. They knew they didn’t have the quality to hang with us so they sat deep, knowing we had no target man, made the middle of the pitch impossible to play through, and relied solely on their “counter-attacking” capabilities. Not to mention they made the game more of a UFC match than one of football. So hats off to them in that respect. Gotta give credit when it is indeed due. Just glad we escaped with the 3 points.

On the Krychowiak front, I read in a couple of sources that PSG was indeed interested in the Pole, well before Blanc’s reign imploded. I’m paraphrasing, but I believe Krychowiak said that he had been in talks with PSG since last season, and once he heard that Emery was on board, it really solidified his decision to sign on the dotted line. So I wouldn’t put too much into that.

I think it was pure politics that the Pole didn’t feature in Corsica, as NAK sees Matuidi as an asset to PSG on and off the pitch domestically. And as far as you guys dogging out Matuidi, noone ever mentions the fact that he’s been run into the ground for both club and country for the past few years, which can certainly be a reason for his dip in form at club level. As I’m typing this though I am just getting hip to the fact that he is soon to put in a transfer request……..

Anyway I’ll be looking forward to the next podcast. Allez Paris!

    1. Thanks for all the feedback! We’re definitely not too worried about Gregor. I think Ofthedoor’s comments about Bastia come from a long life of seeing the supporters be a bit thuggish…

      1. Quite a few clubs in France don’t have the quality to hang with us but at the same time won’t try to break our legs or hit us with sticks. It’s been going on for years and everyone is tired of it. Time to retrograde these cavemen in CFA2.
